We got a call that a mother dog had ᴛᴇʀʀɪʙʟᴇ burns all over her body. We discovered her frantically pacing around her 𝑑𝑎𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑑 pups, perplexed and practically beseeching for assistance. We don’t know how she was burned, but her face was covered in sᴇᴠᴇʀᴇ blisters, so we think she was attempting to preserve her infants.
Heartbreakingly, her puppies were severely ɪɴᴊᴜʀᴇᴅ and did not survive. The 𝑠𝑜𝑟𝑟𝑜𝑤𝑓𝑢𝑙 look on her face when she first arrived on the treatment table was so sad to see.
This makes her recovery one of physical as well as emotional healing from the ᴛʀᴀᴜᴍᴀ she survived.
